Molded of ultra high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin, these shipping cases and carrying cases are water and dust tight, submersible (MIL-C-4150J), and resistant to corrosion and impact damage. Features include a continuous molded-in hinge, "trigger release" latch system, comfortable snap-down rubber over-molded cushion grip handle, automatic ambient pressure equalization valve (MIL-STD-648C), resistance to UV, solvents, corrosion, fungus and impact damage (MIL-STD-810F).
These cases are tough! SKB's Co-polymer Polypropylene shell material was independently lab tested utilizing "notched izod" impact testing (ATSM D256-05a) and shown to be over 2.5 times stronger than the competition. Resulting in a Lighter and Stronger case!
All SKB 3i Series Indusstrial cases are ATA-approved which means they are Air Transport Association rated and suitable for shipment on airlines. Most are classified as ATA 300, Category 1 — the highest standard for an airline transport container (a minimum of 100 common carrier trips). These cases also meet military spec. (MIL-SPEC) standards.
The "C" designation in the Part Number (below) indicates Cubed (Pick-N-Pluck) foam and "L" indicates layers of solid foam.
